Lakme Fashion Week Day1

I had a mini heart attack in the morning when i found out my wifi was not working but thankfully it started working super awesome around 11:30am. I was eagerly waiting for more updates from LakmeFashionWeek instagram account and i had to do my happy dance after seeing the schedule because my current favourite designer MasabaGupta was to showcase her collections on Instagram... and also i was excited for The Blue Runway by Manish Malhotra.

Meanwhile before show i was taking part in #MMSurvivalKit contest conducted by MissMalini I hope i win one ;) and i also joined the live google hangout with Miss Malini and Manish Malhotra it really was so much fun....

To begin with the Gen Next Show, Here are some of my favourites :

1. INIFD presents Gen Next designer Priyanka Ella Lorena Lama's striking pearl white ensembles with the perfect touch of dramatic hair and makeup.

2. Pop of Neon was!! INIFD presents Gen Next designer Ankit brought to the ramp a dramatic play with masks and head accessories.

4. INIFD presents Gen Next designer Salita Nanda's Pablo picasso inspired line.

Simple and elegant, relaxed silhouettes with an imperial touch at Archana Rao label's showcase. In love with the nude lips and slick hairdo that compliments the attire so amazingly.

11. Masaba Gupta on Instagram.
India's first ever digital runway show held by houseofmasaba on instagram. This was the moment i've been waiting for and trust me, it was all worth waiting.. The candy inspired collections by Masaba left us all drooling and the show became more interesting with the presence of Nargis Fakhri on ramp with her fun attitude. 12. The Blue Runway by Manish Malhotra.
FASHION FOR A CAUSE!! Gender-Equality a cause Manish Malhotra stands for at the WEvolve presents the Blue Fashion Runway.

His collections gave me more reasons to wear Blue and Gold colors. Here're some of my favourites from the BlueRunway.

Lakme Fashion Week 2015 Grand Opening and My current Status

Thanks for checking my blog..
I was to actually update a new blog post today but the on going Lakme Fashion Week kept me busy all yesterday and today. I am catching up through online and yay i am enjoying it. If you are following me on INSTAGRAM and TWITTER you will know how active i am with the pictures from the runway and sadly some people Unfollowed me from instagram lol may be because of spamming their feed but i really don't care because the one who love and support my work will stay, i need them and not the unfollowers!!

It all started with Grand show opening by Sabyasachi Mukherjee where we got to see some amazing Prints, Florals, glitters and the fabric and texture were way too good. I personally felt this was so far the best opening of any fashion show event in India. This season his inspiration was from the style of 70s and he gave it a modern twist that turned out to be successful Grand opening of Lakme Fahsion Week Summer Resort 2015.

#DearMe

What would you tell your younger self?

That’s the question YouTube is asking women around the world for its #DearMe initiative. Launched in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, YouTube is encouraging people to upload a video letter to the site, addressing their younger selves and the issues they faced growing up. Famous youtuber such as Essie Button, Michelle Phan, Scherezade shroff, Miss Malini and more have already uploaded #DearMe video and trust me they are really inspiring and encouraging. After watching their videos i thought i should also contribute to this campaign and i am doing my part here.

These are the few messages i would give to my younger self :

1.STOP SETTLING FOR ANYTHING LESS : Life is too short to settle for anything less than what we truly want. The only way to embrace your potential is to stop settling. Excellence is a place where people who refuse to settle for mediocrity live; it is where one reaps from all the hardwork sown. It is a journey of continuos progression toward the goals in your life.

"The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for."

2.GO WITH THE FLOW : When you screw up, Don't panic, It happens!! Just accept it and move on with life, Try not to over think for weeks, months and years about something that went wrong. Learn from the mistake, Pick it up and move on with life.

3.DO IT NOW : Time wasted is time lost for ever, Hence procrastination, that is the habit of postponing things, is rightly called the thief of time. Do not postpone and don't wait for a right time, you have to do it now and make it happen right instead of waiting for the right moment.

4.EMBRACE YOUR LIFE : Just let go of how you thought your life should be and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your conciousness. Always remember everything in life happens for a reason.

5.ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE : Stop being someone else and Accept the real you. You are unique and yes you are your own kind of beautiful. It doesn't matter if you are short and over weight, Don't put pressure on yourself, instead of competing to someone else, look for the positive side in you and work for the better you.

BE YOUR OWN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL : BE YOU!!

The BodyShop Facial Brush : Review

I was born with blessed skin but by times i started facing some common problems such as freckles, pimples and those red patches become extra burden to me... At the beginning I was so tensed with all those and I used to get concious when ever I step out in public but consulting to a dermatologist and taking extra care myself it started to ease. There are few necessary: TO DO list for my facial skin and exfoliating is one among them.

I have been exfoliating with scrub and cleansing gel ever since I get to know the importance of exfoliation but I haven't tried any cleansing brush as I feel it's so unnecessary until i use it myself. And trust me with the use of facial brush it's 100% better visible result in one use.....

I purchased The BodyShop facial brush when I was in Delhi on Jan and since then have been experimenting this product. The review below are based on my own experiment.

Why Exfoliate?

Some of you might think why exfoliating is considered so important? For me it is the first thing that comes in mind when i think of my skin routine.Our face are all pores when we zoom in and check and these pores are filled with oil and dirt which later result to as pimples and allergy if not taken care properly. And more over if the base of your skin is not well clean thn no matter how expensive cream and makeup you use it won't give good result. So in order to get the best glowing skin exfoliating is a must as it cleanse your pores from the root.

Why to use a brush to exfoliate?

Just like a brush is necessary for your teeth it is important to your facial skin as well. Scrub and cleansing gel will definitely help in exfoliating but with use of a brush it can able to cleanse from the root.

How to use it?

The BodyShop Facial Brush is a manual brush. So, put your favorite facial cleanser or face wash on the wet bristles, and massage your face in circular motions for a minute. Use it all over your face, excluding under eye areas and eyes. Focus on the T-Zone area as it is prone to Blackheads.

What it does?

1. Cleanse your face properly.
2. Remove blackheads that has been troubling you from long.
3.Remove makeup, oil and dirt from the pores and so there's a less chances of getting acne.
4.Lighten the acne scars.
5.Visible glow in a wash.
6.Helps prevent breakout and tanning.

Final thought: I started seeing effect on my face from the first use itself, it brought glow to my skin, lighten my acne scars and reduced my blackheads. While using this product one should keep in mind not to over use it, specially to those who have sensitive skin use it every other day. The packaging of this brush is so good, it's portable and the cap is super tight. Overall, I am so impressed with this product and i will definitely recommend you all to try it.

My Internship Story :)

I finally decided to intern for a month this holiday and Touch Wood I got such a good response from the company that I applied and with the choices in my hands I opted for the one that I have my passion on and so I chose Stalkbuylove as a fashion intern.
In this post I'll be sharing my bit of experiences and also will be answering some of the questions that were asked to me by my friends and readers regarding my internship with a hope that it might help you or your friends.

I interned at  Stalkbuylove for a period of three weeks, Many of you might be aware of this company but for those who don't know Stalkbuylove is an online fashion clothing brand for women that comes up with awesome collections be it Dresses, Casual wear and many more ( Check here).

FAQs:

1.What kind of internship was that? Designing? Blogging? or something else?
Ans- I was a fashion intern and worked under the editorial team assisting in styling for campaign, product and banner shoots along with content writing for their blog as well as product descriptions.

2.How did you apply?
Ans- As you guys know me well, I am social media enthusiast and I am 24*7 with my phone and many of the time you'll see me instagraming, one fine day I left a comment on Stalkbuylove's Instagram account asking whom to contact if I were to apply for an internship and I was given an email id to contact to and it happened all through Gmail :)
-If you are planning to apply in any company in future just do the same thing as I did or you can click on their website Career link, but if you apply through their website the process will take more time.

3.Was that a paid internship?
Ans- It wasn't a paid internship because I was there for only a short period of time but within these short period of time I had a great experience so much so that I some how feel no amount can stand parallel with these experiences so it was a WIN WIN situation :)

4.How was the work surrounding?
Ans- The work place was very lively and informal. It's all surrounded with pretty clothes and frank people, I couldn't have asked for anything more :) On the first day itself I made many new friends and by the time I completed my internship I felt as if I am departing from my old good friends..... Sigh!!!! I miss them!!

5. So is your job assured for future?
Ans- May be, May be not... IDK... but with the experience letter they gave me I am pretty sure I shall be getting good jobs in future!!

6. Why three weeks only?
Ans- I was having only one month holiday and during the first week of my holiday I went for a family trip so yah only three weeks!!

My piece of advice : If you are college going student or recently graduated I would like to remind you guys that TIME IS PRECIOUS why not intern and volunteer somewhere instead of just goofing and chatting around. There are lots of opportunities around us these days and if you are lucky you will be paid. Make best use of your time because once it is gone it will never come back. Now is the time :)

How To Paint Your Nails Perfectly

        "Your Nails are Reflection of Yourself"

I personally believe nails are women's best accessory that doesn't go out of fashion other than that everything does right! Agree? and also it compliments your look to the next level. 

May be because i myself being nail paint obsessed, all i notice in a lady is not how she dressed herself but how her nails are dressed. (Being Judgmental :))

P.S- I would recommend you to read this post on web version or via your PC or laptop for better quality picture.

Dear friends of mine knows how much i love painting my nails and my Instagram followers might have noticed nail post many of the times and many of them asked me how i paint it so neatly.(Pro after all.. J.K)

I often paint it out of boundary but there are certain tips and tricks of painting nails so that it will make your nails look like a pro without putting so much of effort and expenses.

What you'll need?

1.Nail File

2.Petroleum jelly

3.Cotton-buds

4. Base-coat nail paint (Transparent nail-paint would do)

5.Colored Nail paint of your choice

Get the Parlor like manicure at home by following these simple steps!!

1.Shape your nails

Shape your nails using Nail File. Make sure you shape every nails uniformly so that it looks clean and pretty. (Round and Square are popularly used)

2.Prevent your nail area using Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum Jelly prevents skin from drying.

Evenly apply Petroleum Jelly on area around your nails using Cotton-Bud.

By using cotton-bud or cotton apply Petroleum Jelly like Vaseline on the skin around your nails first. This creates a barrier between the polish and your skin so that after you've painted your nails, you can wipe off the vaseline and any polish mistakes along with it and also it helps your skin from drying due to nail paints.

3.Base Coat

Base-Coat helps nail paint last longer.

Always apply Base coat before applying any colored nail paint because 

   *It will extend the life of your manicure.
   *It gives the polish an even surface to adhere to.
   *It will prevent dark colors from staining your nails after removing nail paints. (It prevents nails from looking yellow afterwards)

It's very important to invest on one Base Coat nail paint because it can be used every time you think of painting your nails. But if you don't have base coat with you for emergency purpose you can substitute it with applying Transparent nail paint and it will do 60% of what Base Coat does.

Let the base coat dry completely and then proceed to step 4.

4.Color your Nails

Apply the color nail paint of your choice. 

There are tricks to apply, follow me;

 -Cover the nail in three strokes
     1. Always begin from the center line, don't forget to brush it in upward direction.
     2. Paint it upward in left or right corner.
     3. Paint it in the remaining corner on the same upward direction.

Tips
    -Apply polish starting at the bed of the nail, pulling the brush up.
    -Go for thinner texture at the beginning and later go for double or triple coating depending on how dark or bright color you want. 
    -Make your nail paint dry faster by soaking it in ice water after painting them or Spray non stick cooking spray on your nails to help dry it faster.

5.Top Coat

It is as important to apply the top coat as Base coat are..
Let the nail paint dry completely and once done apply Top Coat or Transparent nail paint to make it look more clean and attractive and also to make it stay for a longer period.

6.Clean the excess color

Dip your ear-bud or angled brush in polish remover and trace the edges of your cuticle to remove excess color.

And you are done!! Salon like manicure at home :) 

So what are you waiting for, follow the simple steps mentioned above and start painting your nails because plains are so boring ;) 

Personal advice: Invest on good nail polishes though they might be lil expensive but they are worth it, If you are running out of budget Maybelline ColorShow nailpaints are your must haves....
